<lom:string language="fre">La chaîne respiratoire des mitochondries des plantes est caractérisée par la présence de multiples NAD(P)H déshydrogénases (ou NDH) localisées dans la membrane interne. Outre le complexe I commun à toutes les mitochondries (qui oxyde le NADH matriciel), deux NAD(P)H déshydrogénases supplémentaires sont présentes : l'une interne (face matricielle) et l'autre, dite externe, orientée vers le cytosol. Ces deux déshydrogénases oxydent respectivement le NAD(P)H matriciel provenant du cycle de Krebs et le NAD(P)H cytosolique. Elles court-circuitent le complexe I, donc le premier site de translocation des protons, et sont insensibles à la roténone, inhibiteur du complexe I.</lom:string>
