La première, plutôt qu’une fable, est presque une nouvelle et elle vous montrera que les loups-garous étaient déjà une notion familière dans la mythologie populaire. La seconde et la troisième, qui nous paraissent plus conventionnelles (mais n’oublions pas que ce recueil est la première manifestation du genre de la fable animalière), jouent sur les attributs psychologiques traditionnels des animaux (la force du lion, la ruse du renard, la bêtise du singe).
