Apollodore, et le document 2 qui résume ses informations, présente la succession des générations des dieux la plus couramment admise à l'époque classique et hellénistique : Ouranos et Cronos engendrent chacun trois fils et trois filles. Mais la mythologie grecque, issue de sources orales multiples, est changeante et malléable, comme vous allez le constater à la lecture des textes suivants. Un dernier texte, extrait de l’Odyssée, est consacré à la généalogie des rois des Phéaciens. Cette généalogie est présentée au cours de l'un des épisodes les plus fameux de l'Odyssée, lorsque Ulysse arrive aux pays des Phéaciens et va se présenter au palais royal.
